WINDSOR PARK STORIES TRAVELS TO OLD FORGE FOR A FESTIVAL CALLED FELITTESE

If you missed the Felittese Festival in Old Forge, Pennsylvania, there’s a way to savor all the rich traditions, food and fun from that September weekend. Turn on WBRE-TV on Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. and watch it come to life on this week’s episode of The New Windsor Park Stories.

At a time when all of us are saddened by the news of the day, this story will bring a smile to your face, and it will put a bounce in your step.

The Felittese Festival is a three day event that honors the traditions of those who came to the United States from Felitto, Italy in the early part of the twentieth century. It’s a story about faith, and the intercession of Our Lady of Constantinople. It’s a story about community. It’s a story about music, and it’s a story about food…all kinds of special Italian foods.

Kitch and I will take you inside St. Mary’s Church for the traditional Mass, and we will put you in the parade along the streets of the borough as the congregation makes its way to the festival grounds. Then we take you into the kitchen where you will experience the sights and sounds people making traditional Italian food.

This episode has one very special moment. While we were recording a musical scene, we were reunited with one of our former students who graduated from King’s College in 1973.

Felettise ends with a Scrap Book segment highlighting the smiling faces of children and the laughter of parents having a wonderful time.

Felittese is a happy, fun filled episode of The New Windsor Park Stories. It’s one episode that is guaranteed to lift your spirits.

Support for The New Windsor Park Stories is provided by King’s College, The Luzerne County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Edwards Garden Center.
